The Fourteenth Station

Lift up your gates, O ye princes, and be lifted up,
  O eternal gates, and the King of Glory shall enter in.  Ps. 23:7

Christ’s sacred body was entombed in rest:
 His host within the tabernacle lies,
The bread with which our souls may in Him rise.
 The Way has provided man his love’s quest
That reveals of His followers their best.
 Our Lord’s sacrifice makes His faithful wise;
At Mass He strengthens us and for us dies.
 With Him our souls are eternally blest.

Lord, your Way, your Truth, your Passion, I sing
 Within fourteen lines for fourteen stations.
I fail if there is one thing that I hide,
 One great truth of God and man’s relations:

With You, facing death in life, man can BE.
 Guide us, Gentle Shepherd, eternally.
