By way of introduction to these poems:
Of The Station of the Cross
Fulfilling the law, perfectly humble,
Jesus, as the Father’s true son, showed how;
Yet on the Cross, his temple would crumble:
In this anguish, he uttered, “Why hast Thou– ”
To attract all good men unto himself,
Our Lord preached of his death, not mistaken.
In speaking the truth, his Way became wealth;
Yet on the Cross by mankind “ – forsaken – ”
On two great commandments, prophecy hung,
But, bloody in anguish, what did men see?
False prophet – with nails, by God and man, stung?
An eternal cry was rent in death, “ – ME – ?”
Lord, I pray to be crucified with You –
Living, thus, I may reveal what is true.
